Sarah Askaroff

At the age of 8 I decided I was going to be an archaeologist. 10 years later I went to my first ever gig with my Dad's point and shoot camera, then I realised that I has a new passion...two passions to be exact, music and photography. With this new direction and ambition I obtained a BTEC National Diploma in Photography at Brighton College and began my career as an assistant to Peter Prior - one of the country's leading wedding photographers. Although wedding photography was not a path I had previously considered I learnt a great deal in the two years I was with him and keep that with me today. In 2004 I began working for local newspaper group, Becketts where I worked my way up to the postion of senior photographer. My role at Becketts was brilliant and varied. For the Eastbourne Herald I was responible for a number of assignments, snapping all sorts of fascinating people from Gordon Brown to Dusty the local drag queen. While my skills have developed from this experience, my passion still remains for music and portrait photography and I have shot a number of big gigs including The Police at their last English gig in Hyde Park in 2008 for This Is London and a number of local assignments for East Magazine. I hope my passion is captured in my work. If you have any questions, would like to organise a shoot, enquire about prices or buy any prints please get in touch.
